Spent 3 awesome weeks at this great school, where I immediately felt at home. As a language teacher myself I highly appreciated the teacher´s deep knowledge of their subject, as well as their teaching skills and ability to adapt the classes to their students needs. The atmosphere in class was always warm and friendly, and the topics we discussed were engaging. It was also great that they have teachers of all ages, not only very young ones (I was afraid that everyone in the school would be under 30 but that was not the case). We middle-aged students feel more at ease with teachers of our own generation. :) Another thing that I highly appreciated was the excellent cultural program with lots of well-planned visits to nearby cities and places of cultural interest. All in all; the school made a very professional - yet warm and informal - impression and I will be happy to join classes again when I come to Málaga next time.czytaj więcej

Excellent school! I spent 4 weeks in Málaga and attended a course at the Alhambra Instituto Internacional. More than one month has already passed since I'm back home and I still find myself thinking about the fantastic moments I had and the incredible people I met. That's why I'm writing this review now. It's not like you imagine a language class. It has nothing to do with school classes. It's pure fun! Even the morning sessions were fun and I'm definitely not an early bird :) The teachers were extremely patient, enthusiastic and professional. The lessons were interesting and I learned a lot in a short period of time. The school is located close to the beach in a very friendly neighbourhood. I'd definitely join another class at Alhambra. The only thing I'd do differently is to look for the accommodation myself. The apartment was a little overpriced, since it was quite dirty and basic. However, I 100% recommend Alhambra Instituto. A huge thank you again to the entire team and a special thanks to Andrés for bringing us closer to the andalusian culture and making even grammar lessons a blast!czytaj więcej

My week here was stressful because I was placed in a class which was too advanced for my current level. I am level B1 but my certificate at the end of the course was for a B2 course. My class was studying the subjunctive tense and already had several days learning behind them. Some had studied it before they came to the school. The initial test did not test for knowledge of the subjunctive , yet I was expected to fit in with the rest of the class. But I understood very little and I felt totally out of my depth. I informed the staff and I was moved from class to class, 6 in 3 days, but none were suitable as they were either covering subjects that I had already studied, or they were too advanced. The teachers tried to help and I was given 2 private lessons, which helped, but I was still behind the other students and at times I just wanted to go home. It was very difficult to make friends with other students as I moved classes so often, and that is what I have enjoyed in other language schools. (I did make one friend and she had experienced the same problems as me! )So it was a stressful week but I have learned a lot about the subjunctive tense. There needs to be an orientation for the new students where they are shown around the building and informed how the lessons work and their timetable, how long the breaks are for, etc. Just one other thing......the school’s website advertises a special digital whiteboard as part of the learning process, and their video shows students getting up from their seats and using the whiteboard. Nothing like that happened in any of the classes that I was in. The whiteboards were used in a traditional way, with the teacher writing words on them with their fingers. I have studied Spanish in language schools in Nerja, Sevilla and Mallorca in the last 2 years and really enjoyed the learning and social life, but sadly I didn’t enjoy this school. The staff, the activities and excursions, the location especially the proximity to the beach as well as the other pupils made my stay of 3 weeks in this school an unforgettable experience. The first two weeks I was put into a luxurious (no exaggeration :D) flat very closeby (about 10 minutes walking) and in the last week I deplorably had to move into an other one, which was rather modest but still alright. The school lessons were simply fun, the conveyed content perfectly suitable to application in real life and I was looking forward every single day for the school to commence. Even though the andalusian accent is said to be incredibly hard to understand, the teachers were always trying to speak as clear as possible and it worked out very well. Special regards, thanks and praise at this point to Andres, who is just doing an impeccable job as a teacher as well as a sort of cultural envoy of Andalusia, not forgetting Violetta, Christina, Fran and Lorenzo and the rest of the staff! Anyone who wants to learn Spanish and have a heck of a good time while doing it should go to Alhambra Instituto! I can only speak good things about this school. I spent six weeks there in April-May and I had a blast. I went there with a level of A1/A2 and after six weeks I took a DELE exam on a B2 level and got approved! If this doesn't tell you anything about how brilliant, motivating and funny the teachers at Alhambra are then I don't know what would😂 Never in my life have I experienced such fun classes taught by teachers who really loves learning out their language and culture. Alhambra is the best school in the world no exaggeration. I was lucky enough to spend five weeks learning Spanish at the school which was some of the best weeks of my life. I the most incredible friends who I now consider to be family. I saw incredible sights, went on amazing excursions with the school and ate incredible food. The school's location is perfect only 10 minutes by bus to Malaga center in a beautiful suburb of El Palo where the people are very friendly, and the beach is around the corner. My Spanish teachers were phenomenal they were kind patient and somehow even made grammar classes intresting. I was lucky enough to be taught by Andres, Fran, Lorena and others whose commitment, professionality and enthusiasm were incredible to witness. Alhambra is more than just a language school it is a family, and I feel very grateful and fortunate to have had the opportunity to study there. Ahora tengo confianza en mi español. I have just spent an amazing 2 weeks on the Seniors Course at the Alhambra Instituto Internacional School in Malaga. Having read excellent reviews before booking, I had high expectations, and was not disappointed! This is a small and cosy feeling school with the most wonderful and dedicated teachers, who clearly care a lot about their students(special thanks to the amazing Fran and Andrés!). There is a lovely mix of young and older students, and the staff go beyond to make the experience special. The teaching is of a very high standard, with a great mix of speaking, writing and grammar, with staff even helping with feedback on homework! The organised excursions were a wonderful and varied addition and make the whole experience an amazing blend of learning and culture together. Even the students from other local schools had special praise for the Alhambra teachers, in particular their patience and very informative guided tours, which really enhanced the whole experience. I can't recommend this school highly enough, and above all, the teachers gave me confidence in my ability to learn Spanish- I have returned full of confidence(finally!) for my future learning. MALAGA A couple of days ago I came back from my 3th visit to the Alahambra Instituto in Malaga. First of all Malaga is a great city with bars, restaurants and lots of museums, and the sea is always close by. Furthermore it helps of course that the weather is amazing and the people always are friendly (would that be a coincidence my Belgian mind wonders?) But there were more reasons to go back to the Alhambra Instituto : the teachers are really wonderful, the reception is warm and cordial, the material is top of the notch and above all : from day one you feel part of ONE BIG FAMILY. The contact with staff and teachers is very personal and the students hang out together and help one another when they can. The first two visits were merely meant to keep up the knowledge I had acquired previously and which seemed to fade away by not using the language frequently enough. By being in a stimulating environment of co-students who were there with similar objectives I picked up some fluency already after a few days. This time however the objective of my 3 weeks stay was to substantially increase my knowledge of the more academic spoken Spanish. By means of a individulised programme with classical lessons, one-on-one exercises and cultural excursions I managed to reach my targets. Thanks Lorenzo, Andres and Fran !!! I have just returned from a special 'Seniors' course at the Alhambra Institute and would recommend it highly to any adult who is thinking of doing a Spanish language course. Having experienced different schools in different parts of Spain, what struck me most about the Alhambra was the warm and welcoming ambience. Its not a large school so you get to know all the staff very well and the teachers are fun, enthusiastic and inspirational and the teaching is of a high standard. On this 'Seniors' package all the activities were included and there was something every day: visits to the local museums, visits to important sites in the city including the fascinating central market, a Paella get together, and excursions to Cordoba and Granada at the weekends. You learnt as much Spanish on these outings as in the classroom. I am looking forward very much to a return visit next year!czytaj więcej

It was one wonderful spanish experience for 2 weeks!! At the very first I didnt knew single Spanish but in just 2weeks I was able to make a simple conversation with Espanolas! Not only my spanish skills improved but the thing is that I really did enjoyed the time in Malaga with this wonderful Spanish school. My best and true Amigo y professor Fran! He really knows how to teach the Spanish beginner and moreover very funny. Maybe because the class was fun, my spanish skills just enhanced belong. My 2 weeks at Alhambra Instituto were outstanding, due to Fran, a true teacher, Spanish to Spanish method, excellent workbook, magic interactive white-board. Really a computer I could open up on my computer. I’m a Senior, thus slower. But within 15 days, I understood 50 to 80%, reading 50 to 70 %. Speaking was harder. There are Senior Courses too ! I attended Alhambra for almost the entire month of June through an intersession abroad program from my university. This school was truly the best school I could have attended. They taught me everything I needed to learn to further my studies in Spanish. They not only personalize the learning so you can be successful at improving the language, but they also have such a positive energy when they teach. I had the pleasure of learning from Pilar, Andrés, Lorenzo and Fran. All of them push you to be a better student and Spanish speaker. They take their time to explain anything you are confused about and make sure you understand the content before moving on. In addition to the amazing teachers, Alhambra has amazing cultural activities and trips you can take part in throughout the week. These activities include visiting historical sites with incredible views, shopping at the local market, and taking a dive into the Mediterranean Sea through a boat ride. Through this school, I not only improved in Spanish, but I also became friends with people from around the world. If I have the opportunity, I will most definitely return to this school. I would highly recommend this school to anybody, no matter the age or the knowledge of the Spanish language and culture.czytaj więcej

I spent two weeks at Alhambra and only wish I could have spent two months there! The school is great. Andrés, Elisa, Fran, Lorena, Lorenzo and Rocio we're all wonderful teachers; well prepared, experienced, enthusiastic and effective. I learned a lot and really enjoyed myself. The location in Pedregalejo is very nice, close to the beach and only a quick and easy bus ride to the city center of Malaga. Having studied at the Alhambra Institute last year I returned in April 2017 for another two weeks at the school. It was again an excellent experience. The teaching is professional, interactive and engaging. At times the classes are challenging but the teachers ensure that at the end the students understand the objectives of the class and are able to move forward. The teachers ensure that each student is involved in the class. I enjoy the changes of teacher during the week, as this enables the students to experience different teaching styles and accents. The extra curricular activities are also excellent, extremely enjoyable and well guided and informative. I highly recommend the school to anyone wishing to learn this delightful language. I have been following my internship at Alhambra Instituto for 5 months and it was truly an incredible experience. The school is great and the teachers and the people at the school are really kind. I felt part of the team immediately, could follow some Spanish courses in order to improve my Spanish and they taught me more about the Spanish culture. I had a great time, met great people and learnt a lot. I recommend this language school to everybody who wishes to learn to Spanish language and be immersed in the Spanish culture. In May 2016, I spent two weeks in Málaga at the Alhambra Instituto to improve my Spanish skills. Ever since my landing, I felt at home: Cristina picked me up at the airport and showed me many things on our way to the apartment, which became my home for the next two weeks. My roommates were fantastic and the internationality of our flat gave me the wonderful opportunity to start talking Spanish from the very beginning. The Alhambra Family had it figured out! :-) My sojourn got even better as my classes begun. The school has a familiar atmosphere and the teaching level is very high. The teachers’ specialised knowledge, their patience and their talent to explain every particularity in grammar is captivating. Lorenzo, Andrés, Fran, Carlos, Ana and Pilar achieved “to dust” my Spanish in only a few days and disposed me very well for the DELE exam. Furthermore, the extracurricular activities and excursions permit a totally immersion into the Spanish language and culture. Unfortunately, I had to less time to join the activity programs, but I will next time. As a matter of facts, I will come back as soon as possible to continue my studies!czytaj więcej

Very recommended, all the teachers are very nice and welcoming. Very cozy and nice environment, they offer trips everyday of the week and they sometimes take you to an outing after class to have lunch with students and teachers. Highly recommended. I have just returned from taking a two-week course at the Alhambra Instituto and can thoroughly recommend it. The teachers are excellent, patient and encouraging, and they cover a lot of ground in the time available. It’s hard work but fun. Lessons are often light-hearted, which makes learning enjoyable. There is a friendly atmosphere at the school with a mixture of younger and older people. The school recognises that the over-fifties often like to have classes with others of their own age, and the Instituto specifically caters for this, although everyone mixes well and chats to each other during break times. I’m now hoping to move forward from beginners Spanish to learn more in the future.czytaj więcej
